Bob, Blogs and Breakfast

Sparks, Nevada:

Brave, brilliant, balanced, handsome, provider, protector, accountant, basketball fan, competitive, hard-worker, outgoing, fun-loving, exciting, reader, history buff, traveler, baseball fan, lover, spider hero, handyman, helper, researcher, analyzer, rig tow-er, sweetheart, sexy, ocean admirer, longs for Hawaii, adventurous, waterfall seeker, philosophical, pinochle player, walker, hiker, bicycler: Bob.

Big fluffy stacks of blueberry pancakes, pumpkin pancakes topped with cinnamon applesauce, French toast with real maple syrup, fried eggs, cinnamon bread, an outing to a local bakery, scrambled eggs with roasted red peppers and smoked cheese melted in, Belgian waffles, breakfast burritos, pfannkuchen und Apfelmus (crepes with applesauce), Danish pastries, oatmeal, omelets, Cheerios, poached eggs, coffeecakes, hard-boiled eggs, bacon (once in a while), fruit, string cheese: breakfast! (I hope you don't think I eat all this at one sitting.)

I am definitely a breakfast eater. Breakfast etymology means to break the fast. After 10-12 hours with no food I am ready to chow down breakfast. Whether we eat at home or eat out doesn't matter one iota. What does matter is the quality and taste of the food.

My husband is not as enamored of breakfast as I am and usually cereal will do, although he does like vegetarian omelets and certainly doesn't complain when I cook French toast or pancakes.

Breakfast is a beneficial way to start the day (as long as you eat healthful foods): protein, fruit, whole grains. The following link gives the Top 10 Benefits of eating breakfast.

One breakfast tradition Bob and I never embraced is drinking coffee. How often is it two people find each other and neither one drinks coffee? We see people in Starbucks, etc., ordering caramel macchiatos or lattes and many other coffee drinks. We feel like a whole coffee culture exists that we know nothing about. Coffee is a foreign concept on B day (should go on C), just as it's a foreign concept to Bob and I.

Now, go find a really good breakfast and blog and enjoy your day, coffee in hand, if that's your thing. (No you can't have Bob!)

Bye bye.

  3. Oh, I love breakfast! This morning, I had a waffle with peanut butter and a (decaf) latte. Brunch is my favorite treat, especially when it's a buffet!

  6. Came in from the a-to-z challenge. Quite a humorous post and informative. Everything you listed for breakfast made my mouth water. So much to plan for my days off when I can take my time to cook those wonderful goodies.
