Outbreak -- Wed., Apr. 17

After returning to the 5th wheel from an interview this morning, slight movement near the hall skylight caught my eye. I looked more closely. About 10 baby spiders had webs going across the skylight and partway into the hall. I'm paranoid some of them got into my hair. AAACK! Spiders! I HATE spiders. Now we've had an outbreak of baby spiders.

Not only were they on the ceiling in the hall; they were in the bathroom and above our bed. I also found one dropping down in the kitchen. Whenever I walk back and forth in here now, I cautiously scope out the ceiling and air space for baby spiders. They're really hard to see.

I killed as many as I could and vacuumed some. Now what? Does anyone know how to get rid of a baby spider invasion? Please help with all suggestions. I DO NOT WANT big spiders in here!!

On to a totally different topic.

O is also for opportunities. Right now I'm looking for a job. I have been interviewing with temporary agencies for admin assistant positions. Soon I'll be working. It will be nice to have a paycheck coming in again.

Over and out.

  1. I wonder if the spiders are a Texas thing? Last night I had a baby spider crawl over my hand (whew) and when I went to bed there was a huge one next to my pillow (double whew). If you figure out how to get rid of them, let us know!

  2. Not sure if this will work.....Borax or baking soda in shallow lids or sprinkled in areas where the problems are.
Lemon Pledge or citrus cleaner sprayed on problem areas....and around door and window
    sills.
I do think vacuuming is the best thing....

    Good luck on your interview!

  3. We keep what used to be called "Shell No Pest Strips" (a strip of insecticide inside a plastic container), I can't remember what they're called now, but we get them at Walmart or Lowe's, usually. We keep 3 of them scattered throughout the interior of the fifth wheel and change them every 6 months and one or two in the "basement". We've done this since we got the 5er and it has worked well, so far, knock on wood, as we're headed for Texas, as we speak, LOL. Good luck, Smiles

  4. Hi Susan!
I found you thanks to the Challenge website. Nice to "meet" you!
Ugh. Spiders. *shudder* I absolutely hate spiders. I hope you can get rid of them soon! If I had any suggestions (besides a flame thrower) I'd definitely pass them along!

Enjoy the rest of the alphabet!

  5. I too hate spiders. I use a flashlight and check all around the ceilings and corners before I go to bed every night. I think vacuuming is the best bet but I would be out of there and setting off a couple of bug bombs. I don't like the smell or the poison but if it comes to bug bombs or spiders, the spiders are going to lose.
