Bombay Bicycle Club (Saturday, Oct. 5 - Part 3)

So, to continue on with the day after the Voksmarch...I went home, showered, then off to the hairdresser for some snipping and styling. On the way home, I stopped at Trader Joe's looking for Bragg's Liquid Aminos. Nope, they don't have it. They told me Whole Foods has it across the street. I bought two bottles.

Went home to reconnect with Bob for an outing to Bombay Bicycle Club restaurant with meetup.com's Cafe Society of San Antonio.

Ten people attended which is a very manageable group. We met some great people. Seven out of 10 of us own cats. The other three people might too, but I couldn't hear the conversation at their table.

Our tables were out on the patio in a private, walled in, outdoor area. It was very pleasant with two large fans cooling us. Bob ate a salmon salad, I had a burger and fries, a couple of people ordered nachos, and I saw buffalo wings and a patty melt. The most interesting order was Scotch eggs - two hard-boiled eggs inside a sausage served with jalapeno peppers. Since it is hard to describe, here is a photo. Our guess is this dish originated in England, Ireland or Scotland.

Here are photos of the group:

The evening consisted of fun conversation, pretty good food, great service, and a pleasant temperature. We'll be going out with this group again.

Thanks to Carole for organizing this meetup.

    1. Definitely our cup of tea, so to speak. In the church we were in in Oregon, one of our social activities was "Discovery Dinners." Once a month, we would choose a new restaurant to try out, people would sign up to go and we'd have a wonderful evening of food and conversation. Cafe Society of San Antonio is very similar to that in concept.

    1. Volksmarch completion is important to me right now. I signed up for the AVA's Centurion Challenge to do 100 Volksmarches in the year. I've got to get a move on because I am still 36 walks short of my goal.

  4. Wow, you have been really busy lately. I've been reading but haven't always posted since I was so far behind from being out RVing.
