Update on Bob's Second Opinion - Tues., July 15

Bob's consultation with a second cardiologist has resulted in a green light for a catheter ablation. The procedure will be done next Monday, July 21. I will take Bob to the hospital at 8 a.m. After his procedure his leg has to be kept straight for at least six hours to prevent blood clots from forming or his incision from re-opening. I will spend the evening with him at the hospital. He will spend the night and I will pick him up on Tuesday late morning or early afternoon.

Then he can't drive for a few days after that. He will have to rest. By then he should be almost as good as new.

Have any of you readers had or known someone who has had an ablation procedure? If so, please share your experiences with us.

  2. Hoping all goes well with this and everything is back to "normal". I'm afraid the only person I know who had one is my BIL and it didn't work for him.

    1. Thanks for the input. I sure hope Bob is in the 80-90% that this procedure works for. Otherwise, he will most likely have the same procedure as the one from the retiredbicycle blog.
