There are so many interesting buildings and you did a great job of capturing them. I hadn't read your blog before we went on Monday so it was funny we both picked up on the metal man. Many, many Germans came to Texas through the port at Galveston. Just a few German communities that we are aware of, mostly in the Texas Hill Country: Boerne, Comfort, New Braunfels, Schertz, Luckenbach, Austin, Bergheim, Schulenberg. Stonewall, Weimar, Harper; Fredericksburg is the largest of them. According to the Texas State Historical Society "the largest ethnic group in Texas (derived directly from Europe) was persons of German birth or descent."TravelBug-Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01974719934652737928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756706420552331439.post-73903900628538165322013-10-21T09:37:43.277-05:002013-10-21T09:37:43.277-05:00You saw a lot of interesting things! (Thought that was just in the northern plains states) Good job on 10 miles in one day.Linda W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00805197763483105000noreply@blogger.com
