Susan and I didn't get enough of each other yesterday. At 1 p.m. today, when we thought it might warm up to 50, we met to hike the Salado Creek Greenway Trail. It was cold; colder than 50. On the drive up to the park, the news said it was 40 degrees and there was a cold wind. At least part of our walk was sheltered by trees. At the end of the walk at 3 p.m., the weather was on the news and it had reached 44 degrees. Never did get to 50 today.
We walked our 10K (6.2) miles at a brisk pace, finishing in a little under two hours. Along the way, we saw a number of deer, the faux bois picnic tables and benches of Carlos Cortes, and some fluffy, long-tailed squirrels.

After the walk, I met Bob at his office and we went to see a new financial adviser. Then we went to dinner at Twin Peaks, a restaurant that will soon give Hooters a run for its money. The menu at Twin Peaks is far superior there's no comparison. Twin Peaks decor is hunting lodge rustic and the girls are gorgeous.

Those deer are really checking you out. The restaurant has the kind of decor I like and that stew plate looks delicious - I'm off to do a little restaurant research.
ReplyDeleteOur daughter here in Houston keeps telling us we need to go to Twin Peaks. Every time we go by it is packed! Now I think we better make a point of eating there. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely an all weather gal. The rib stew and cobb salad both look scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteHi, Susan -- I got your name and blog link from Ingrid over at Live,Laugh,RV blog. I would like to email you, but I cannot find an email address on your blog. I am coming to San Antonio, and Ingrid said you might be willing to offer a recommendation of the RV Park where you are workkamping, but I can't seem to locate the name of it in the search feature. Would you please give me some advice on where we might stay? There will be two RVs, each a 24 ft Class C.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzanne
