It amazes me that 1-1/2 weeks ago we were in San Antonio, Texas. Today, we're 2,635 miles away in Chimacum, Washington. We are so fortunate to live in this society with its freedoms. We are very thankful for the opportunities we have in our country.

The night before in Eugene, after dinner with Lonnie and Drew, we saw the huge "sturgeon moon" rising in the southeast. We were all impressed. This week's full moon is called a sturgeon moon because it occurs around the time of year that, historically, indigenous populations found the large freshwater fish were easily caught in the Great Lakes (according to the Old Farmer's Almanac).
This morning, we left the Columbia Riverfront RV Park at 9 am. All was well and we had light to moderate traffic on I-5, with only a couple of slowdowns north of Olympia near Lacey.
We were delayed north of Silverdale, Washington. The Hood Canal Bridge was closed. When we arrived, we were three miles away from the bridge. Luckily, they opened the bridge shortly after we got there and we only waited 1/2 hour. Some waits can be two hours or more.

Well, we're happy to be out of that traffic mess! When we arrived at Evergreen Coho SKP RV Park in Chimacum, they were going to put us in a water/electric site only. I told them that in February I had reserved a full-hookup site for 2-1/2 weeks. I got my confirmation paperwork out of the truck. They moved people around and were able to get us into a full hookup site. Thank you very much.
About 1-1/2 weeks ago, I had a gel manicure and pedicure. Normally, that lasts three weeks. This time, one toenail lost its polish and three fingernails were chipped or had polish half gone. The RV park recommended DK Nails in Port Townsend. I was able to go in immediately. They matched my nail color on my toe and fixed that. Then I had a full manicure to fix the bad manicure I received in Texas. They did an excellent, efficient job.
Bob and I had Thai food leftovers for dinner! Mmm! Then, we took a two-mile walk around the RV park.
On Thursday, I will do laundry and we will be packing for our cruise! So excited!
Friday, Bob, Diane Howell Evans, and I are doing a 12 km Spruce Railroad Volksmarch along the north shore of Lake Crescent on a paved trail following the old, abandoned railroad bed. We have to bring flashlights for the tunnels. That should be a gorgeous hike!
And then Saturday, we will drive down to my brother and sister-in-law's place to park our truck there while we're gone on the cruise. Our son Michael will pick Bob and I up there and we'll travel together to the cruise ship terminal. Fun times await! A group of 11 of us will be on the cruise.
Must get some sleep. At least I get to sleep in tomorrow!
