Bob's consultation with a second cardiologist has resulted in a green light for a catheter ablation. The procedure will be done next Monday, July 21. I will take Bob to the hospital at 8 a.m. After his procedure his leg has to be kept straight for at least six
hours to prevent blood clots from forming or his incision from
re-opening. I will spend the evening with him at the hospital. He will spend the night and I will pick him up on Tuesday late morning or early afternoon.
Then he can't drive for a few days after that. He will have to rest. By then he should be almost as good as new.
Have any of you readers had or known someone who has had an ablation procedure? If so, please share your experiences with us.

Hi Susan, I don't know her personally but read her blog and she's had the same procedure. http://retiredbicycle.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link. We both went to her blog and read up on it.
DeleteHoping all goes well with this and everything is back to "normal". I'm afraid the only person I know who had one is my BIL and it didn't work for him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the input. I sure hope Bob is in the 80-90% that this procedure works for. Otherwise, he will most likely have the same procedure as the one from the retiredbicycle blog.
DeleteI was going to offer up the same blog. Here's hoping all goes well and Bob is good as new after the procedure.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa. Bob would sure like to be good as new after the procedure. He's really missing his basketball and running!
DeleteSusan, just wanted to send our best wishes too. Hoping for a quick and speedy recovery so Bob can get back on that basketball court. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I know he can't wait to feel better.
DeleteWe will be praying for a successful procedure and a recovery.
ReplyDeleteWe appreciate it.
DeleteAdding my prayers for an easy procedure, a quick recovery and a happy patient.
ReplyDeleteThose are good prayers. Thanks!
DeleteGood luck with the procedure ... our thoughts are with you for a successful outcome and quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteThank you Erin and Mui!
