As soon as our reservation was canceled, I made a new reservation for EZ Daze RV Park in Southaven, Mississippi, which was a nice enough park, although rather plain. This campground is about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Memphis. It was easy to get to Graceland from here.
We arrived at EZ Daze RV Park at noon, their check-in time. The park is very easy to get to from the freeway. Our site was easy to get into and pretty level which was nice after our unlevel site in Gulpha Gorge.

But for today, we spent the afternoon resting. Again, I blogged, and we read. It's nice to have a mellow day here and there.
I told Bob I think of our big trip as a series of small vignettes. We have a few days here, a week there. We move on to each new adventure when we've completed one. You could also think of it as patches on a quilt telling a big, overall story, or photos in a photo album. We move through each place and leave with stories and memories, but in the end, it is as long as a novel.
Here's a new inclusion in my blog: nicknames of southern cities (since they all seem to have many nicknames!).
Memphis nicknames:
1. The Bluff City (it's on the fourth Chickasaw Bluff along the Mississippi River).
2. Home of the Blues.
3. The Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll.
4. Grind City (not because of coffee, mind you): It's called Grind City because the NBA Memphis Grizzlies motto is "Grit and Grind."
Get ready for a whirlwind, six-day tour of Memphis. I ended up with a whole new appreciation for the history, music, and history of music in Memphis.
