W-O-R-K: A four-letter word, if ever there was one.
I have applied for administrative assistant or executive assistant work at three different temporary agencies. Each Monday I let them know I'm available for work, but nary a word from any of them. No, "We're so happy to have you on board with us," or "We have reviewed your skill set and think you'll be a good fit for..." Just nothing.
The agencies have temporary jobs available. I've applied for them on
their web sites. They have all interviewed me and let me know that they
do get temporary jobs, but they never know when they'll come in. I need
to be patient.
Right now, I need to go to work. I'm not playing around. I have over 30 years office experience and know my way around Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint.
Here's to finding the right jobs!
Travel Bug out.
My daughter was in San Antonio without work for months and she is an accountant with lots of experience as well. Seems as though those Texans are just waaaaaayyyyyyyy slooooooowwwww. Hmmm....you are still in Texas, right? ( Note to self, review friend's whereabouts before posting comment)
ReplyDeleteYes, we are in Texas. If we can't find work, however, we'll go wherever Bob finds work.
DeleteThere are no accidents.....the right position will open up for you!
ReplyDeleteW will happen when you least expect it. I wish you good luck and patience.

Enjoy your trip!
DeleteFinding work can certainly be frustrating. I hope you get something soon! You can always join us a Amazon this fall :)
ReplyDeleteHave you guys considered workamping or something similar? There are jobs posted now and then at workamper.com that are full-time positions with benefits, albeit mostly at RV parks. That being said, I even saw one for a medical office position a while back. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteIt's tough at the moment isn't it.
ReplyDeleteWhen school finishes for the summer I stop teaching music and that's means half my income gone for the summer ;(
As you say - here's to find work!

Susan omit temp from resume, get job and when ready to quit give notice, much better luck with employment. Its too late now but try sub-teaching at schools. They always need subs, regular teacher does the work you just kind of kid-sit.lol
ReplyDeletecould you start your own on-line consulting business? Friends that are fulltimers work from their motorhome as they travel. Do website maintenance.
ReplyDeleteWhat one person can do another can do! Stick with it friend.
ReplyDeleteYou need to find something as an online executive assistant so you can still do the job when you are more mobile.
