Friday Surprise! - Fri., Aug. 15

Friday was going along in a relatively normal fashion. Ralph and I were doing our usual Friday work in the Traveler's World RV Park office: answering phones, making reservations, helping guests, rolling up laundry quarters, and selling store items.

But today was a bit special. You see, we had visitors from Carefree RV Resort's Corporate Office. Devon from Human Resources and Stephanie from Marketing were in town for a conference and paid us a visit. Our managers, Terry and Brenda, took them for a tour around the RV park in golf cart.

Upon returning to the office, Ralph and I found out we (and our spouses) were invited to dinner at Landry's Seafood restaurant on the San Antonio Riverwalk. What a nice surprise. We graciously accepted.

When work was completed we went home, changed our clothes, and all of us rode with Terry and Brenda downtown. We had a wonderful evening and got to know Stephanie, Devon, and Greg, our Regional Manager who flew in from Florida.

We had drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. The firecracker shrimp and fried calamari appetizers were excellent. Well, actually, the whole dinner (and service) was excellent.

Peach sangria - a work of art
The peach sangria was exceptional. The recipe had Luccio Moscato, ginger ale, peaches, strawberries and basil.

We spent 2-1/2 hours talking, dining, and enjoying the evening. The restaurant was quite busy and very noisy so it was hard to hear conversation at the other end of the table. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Carefree RV Resorts for the great evening.

Now back to our regularly scheduled weekend.

Travel Bug out.
