Two Days Gone -- Fri., July 13

San Antonio, Texas:

Just like that...two days gone. Vertigo killed them. What I have is BPPV

I stayed in and sat still or slept. Read a little and played computer games when it didn't feel like the world was spinning. Kind of hard to read when the book or computer screen looks like a moving whirlpool.  Watched a little TV. That's it for two days.

Today was supposed to be laundry day. I put that off.

This evening I feel a little better and did an outing to the H-E-B grocery store with Bob to pick out fresh fish for dinner. We chose tilapia. It was yummy!

Bob rode his bike to Brackenridge High School and ran a lap around the track. He just returned and looks beat. Now he's happily watching the Mariners vs. Rangers baseball.

Very hot and humid the last two days, feels like we need more thunderstorms. Weather prediction is 40% chance of T-storms tomorrow.

Plan for tomorrow is to do a 10K Volkswalk early in the morning, depending on how I feel. I am doing my exercises for vertigo. Seven nights in a row and I should be good for a few more months. I need to get rid of the vertigo before we head out for Yellowstone.

That's all for today. Not much happening here.

Travel Bug out. See kitty pic below if you want...

  1. Hope you feel well enough for the walk on Saturday.

Rain in Texas is a good thing except it produces humidity and mosquitos. These are two things I do not miss from not being in Texas.

Hoving said that, I do love TexMex to the point where I will endure the two things I dislike about Texas. For Me TexMex is my comfort food.

After the walk, have an enchilada for me :)

    1. Thank you. I felt great! We did our 10K Volkswalk at Crownridge Canyon. The first half of the walk was throughout Crownridge Canyon; the second half was through ritzy neighborhoods on the ridges. We didn't get started until 8:45 a.m. and finished about 11:10 a.m. It was hot and humid with very little breeze if any. When we were in the trees under the shade it was much nicer than out in the full sun!

We had lunch at Poppasito's Cantina. Yummy! I had Mexican Chicken Soup with Rice and Bob had their three enchilada plate. We shared with each other. The soup won hands down; it was delicious! We had enchiladas left over. I was stuffed. We brought some home.

    1. Thanks. Don't know if it will go away forever, but that would sure be nice.

  3. My dad and I both have mild BPPV. We joke about having rocks in our heads, but it sure is a misery when it hits. Sounds like you have a pretty bad case, and I hope the exercises are giving you some relief. Aren't you glad that at least there's a simple, painless set of exercises? I'd hate to have to take meds or have surgery to treat the darn thing.

    1. I feel for you both. The most disconcerting thing is it can hit ANYTIME, no rhyme or reason.

When vertigo hits me, it can be pretty severe. Once in a while it's mild. But I need to live my life and most of the time I DON'T have it, so I just keep doing what I would normally do until I can't. Then I rest, do my exercises and wait for it to go away.

One doctor prescribed anti-dizziness pills for me but they didn't help. At least the exercises help.

  4. Susan, I do hope you are back to 100% or definitely as close to that as you can get. Be well!
