Sunday Shenanigans - Sun., Mar. 16

Today Brenda and Keith of Damn Near Perfect Couple blog are meeting us at our fifth wheel, then we're heading out to breakfast. I'm starving!

When they arrived, Bob took them on a driving tour of Travelers World RV Park, then they came to our site where we gave them a tour of our 5er. They got to meet Sunnie and Bowie and introduce them to Pookie's scent. My kitties loved them.

Sunnie and Bowie after Brenda loved 'em up a little.
We didn't spend too long dilly-dallying in the fifth wheel as all four of us were pretty darned hungry for breakfast. It was 10:30 already.

Guenther House was where we planned to go for breakfast until, that is, we arrived and were told it was a 1-1/2 hour wait! No way, no how.

We talked about going to Mimi's Cafe at The Rim by I-10 and 1604, but that was 35 minutes away. So, we headed off to la Madeleine on Broadway. la Madeleine has a good selection of breakfasts. You place your order at the counter, get a number (on a wooden spoon), and they serve you at your table. A French pastry display proved a little too tempting and all of us indulged in treats such as a Napolean, chocolate eclair and a mini chocolate almond tart.

Keith's allergies were causing his eyes to be red, bloodshot, teary and irritated. He was very distracted and felt miserable, could barely see.

An option was to go to the Witte Museum to see their exhibit, "Alien Worlds and Androids: Are We Alone?" They advertise this exhibit as being "where science fiction meets science fact." But it wasn't meant to be.

Brenda and Keith came back to the 5er where Brenda and I chatted about birds and cats. I'm not sure what all Keith and Bob talked about. Our visit was too short. They are headed out on Wednesday to try to find a place where Keith's allergies will abate. Here's hoping the next time we meet he will be feeling his chipper self again.

Travel Bug out.
