Incline Village, NV:
Today we headed up Mt. Rose Highway to Incline Village at Lake Tahoe. The day was absolutely gorgeous!
Once we left Reno, the road climbed rapidly to 8,900', the highest year-round pass in the Sierra Nevada mountains. On our upward climb, we passed the City of Reno ski area, Mt. Rose Slide Ski Area and Mt. Rose Ski Area.
The drive to Incline Village on Lake Tahoe took approximately 40 minutes from Reno. Not bad to go from high desert to gorgeous forest.

We drove around the high-end lakefront homes in Incline Village. It was hard to believe some of those homes were one house, they were so big! We made a quick stop at a lakeside park which in the summer is only open to local residents. In the winter there is no guard at the guardhouse so we went on in.
From Incline Village, we headed up to North Shore Tahoe and had lunch at Brockway Bakery and Art Gallery in Kings Beach, CA. Bob enjoyed his tuna melt. I tried something different, an open face toasted cheese, green chile and tomato sandwich. It was okay. Bob tasted it. He liked it better than I did.
We then headed for home after a great afternoon in the mountains.
