Life marches on and, although I am still cocooned in the 5er most days, there have been some forays out for eye exams, movies and shopping at Walmart and HEB. Bob encourages me to get out and, slowly, I am. It's amazing how careful I am about everything now, always on the lookout for trippers on the ground and anything that might hit my head or face. It's all a part of the healing process.
Today Bob went to GNC and found some Isopure protein drinks with 46 grams of protein. I'll be trying those out shortly.
The other day at Walmart Bob found a Beech Nut baby rice cereal that I can water down enough so it goes through the wires and bands. It's very satisfying to eat cereal again. I put a little brown sugar and cinnamon in it. As I said in another blog, baby steps. But I didn't mean it quite so literally. As in baby food. Whatever works.
Tomorrow will be my first consultation with a dentist. Again, many questions.
Bob stopped at a hobby store and bought two peacock feathers for the cats. What a sweetie he is.
OMG. The cats go nuts over the peacock feathers. They carry them around in their kitty mouths. (Keep in mind, peacock feathers are about three feet long.) So funny. The cats are such big hunters.
Sunnie becomes an acrobat and flies through the air up to three feet high to catch the "bird." He also "dances" on his hind feet, does flips and other acrobatic moves. This is very good for him as he is getting to be quite a large cat.
Bowie is more demure but still runs through the 5er carrying "his" feather in his mouth. He finds unique ways to play with it, dragging it onto the stairs and partially "hiding" it from himself, then attacks it.
This afternoon Bob will go out walking/running again. He's getting to know quite a few areas of San Antone.
Tonight will be a quiet evening for me watching "Dancing with the Stars," "Major Crimes," and "Hawaii 5-0."
A huge MAHALO to the Runner's Hi Ohana. You know who you are and what you did. Thank you notes are coming your way. We are very touched.
I'm happy to be feeling better. Thank you to everyone for the encouragement and get well wishes. I am very grateful.
Travel Bug out.
Glad you're feeling a bit more perky today. Slowly but surely . . . :)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you're feeling better. Don't blame you for being extra cautious right now, I think anybody would in your situation.
ReplyDeleteOur cats have always loved playing with feathers, too. They are such a source of entertainment for us!
We get Turkey feathers for our little Baxter...and he loves them. Al just said he knows where there are some wild peacocks..I'll bet we can find a feather or two. Glad you're getting out a little.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you're feeling better and getting back to your ole self. You're right, baby steps. Oh, but could imagine your killer cats stalking in the jungle. I'm a cat person easily hooked by kitten eyes! Our Chena lived to be 21 years old. She was quite a dame!
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself!!
Glad to hear you are feeling better. Maybe sometime you could post a picture of the kitties playing with the feathers. ;)
ReplyDeleteBetty from Milwaukie, Oregon
I'll see if I can catch some of the kitty action with the feathers.
DeleteSee my post Oct. 17 for kitty playing with feather pics.
DeleteI sincerely hope you experience a more speedier recovery than normal.
ReplyDeleteAs for the peacock feathers, I had a cat that used to come into the bedroom every night with a feather duster to play. I sure miss that cat.
Keep us up to date, and if you're feeling spooky enough (and feeling better) hop on over to my page as I am hosting a Halloween blog hop.
Cheers.
Glad to hear your feeling a bit better and able to get out a bit. What an ordeal you are going through. I hope you get some good news at the Dentist. The only thing I like hearing from a Dentist is "you're good to go"!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Dentist! Feel better, Ann and Jerry
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling a bit better day by day. Hope the dentist told you what you wanted to hear.
