Cotulla, Texas:
For the past few days, the gate has been quiet from 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Very nice for a change.
During the day Bob sometimes has vehicles coming at him from four directions at once. The phase they're on now has vehicles going back and forth from Pad A to Pad B and a site close to the front gate. (So they're working on three "sites" here, even though there are only two pads.)
After everyone checked out for the day, we waited until about 7:30 p.m. when we closed the gate and went for a short bike ride back and forth about 1/4 mile to and from the gate (repeated a few times). It feels good to get out and exercise. After the short ride, Bob jogged and I took a walk to look for good photo opportunities.

ReplyDeleteHi, Susan and Bob! Do you read Our RV Adventures blog by Greg White? He is gate guarding right now as well and has put in a mister to help cut down the heat outside. Glad y'all were able to bike without a truck showing up. We have really enjoyed reading about your experiences gate guarding.
ReplyDeleteHi Peri & Jim,
DeleteI have not read Our RV Adventures, so I have now subscribed. Thank you for the recommendation!
Your travels sound so wonderful. Can't wait to be out on the road again.
Susan & Bob
Just found your blog, LOVE IT!! We are GG between Dilley & Pearsall TX. Are we neighbors??

Hi Kristy,
DeleteThank you, glad to have you stop by.
We are probably about 20-30 miles away from you as we're eight miles outside Cotulla. So, I guess for Texas we're kinda close.
Are you on the myoldrv.com forum for gate guarders?
How long have you been a GG? Which company do you work for?
Susan
We're neighbors!! Cool beans!! I am on myoldrv.com, we're 2freedom. We've only been out here about 3 weeks, new to fulltiming and GG. We're working for LOMA. Can't believe how hot it is already!! Might have to get a mister of our own!!
